While atmost care has been taken by government officials in testing and identifying COID19 positive patients through door-to-door screenings and testing centers. There are private clinics that have been secretly treating patients with symptoms without reporting the numbers to health officials.
Recently government officials in Tamil Nadu have sealed three such clinics in Vellore following a serious breach in the protocol set for reporting Covid-19 cases.These three clinics have admitted that Covid-19 cases were "treated" by them without informing the district administration about this.
The three clinics are: Indira nursing home, Madani Clinic and Annai Laboratory. The district administration came to know about activities of these three clinics during contact tracing of some Covid-19 cases.
At present, the district administration has sealed the three clinics and has started an investigation into the breach of protocol for reporting Covid-19 cases. The officials said all doctors, nurses and employees at these clinics will be tested for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, people have been asked to report themselves if they visited any of the three clinics recently. So far, Vellore has reported 19 Covid-19 cases.
