Balochistan is amongst the poorest provinces of Pakistan and the region has since long been a victim of insurgency. The province is very resource rich and its southern edged city of Gwadar enjoys a strategically important position of trade. The deepwater port in the city was funded by China. This goes on to throw significant light on the business and trade vitality of this town. Balochistan is also home to numerous projects falling under the ambit of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The city of Peshawar had experienced a deadly terrorist attack in 2014 which had resulted in the killing of 150 people. The terrorism has significantly dropped in the country ever since but recently a surge in the terror activity is being experienced. Pakistan is treading on a treacherous trajectory and it shall have to address terrorism in the sternest manner.
